What does a volunteer do?

1. Attend regular walkabouts
-
You will be assigned to a regional team based on what's most convenient for you
-
Either on a regular or ad-hoc basis, depending on your availability
-
Befriend our street sellers
-
Help sellers with small, manageable tasks e.g. getting food
-
Escalate issues that may require our further assistance
2. Ad-hoc Signpost-wide projects
Goodie Bag Distributions
-
Distributions occur on a quarterly basis in collaboration with Lions Befrienders, typically during holiday periods
-
We aim to spread festive joy among our
sellers and directly improve their standard of living through material support.
Meals with Sellers
-
Invite sellers for meals, especially during festive periods or birthdays, and engage in deeper conversations
-
The purpose of the meal is to spread joy and befriend the seller by getting to know them personally
Outings with Sellers
-
Regional Teams may bring our sellers out during festive periods to celebrate the occasion with them
-
Outings are initiated with sellers
whom volunteers are more familiar with, both to ensure their safety and to maximise impact
